Google Health adds two-way Apple Health syncing on iPhone

Back in May, the Google Health app launched alongside the new line of affordable Google Fitbit Air health trackers. Google Health initially included one-way Apple Health integration. The app could read and import health data recorded by an iPhone, Apple Watch, and other HealthKit-connected apps, but it couldn’t write Fitbit data back to Apple Health. Today’s Google Health iOS app update adds the missing half of that connection.

A $1,399 starting price for the iPhone 18 Pro doesn’t seem credible, even for Apple

We know for sure that Apple will increase iPhone prices when the iPhone 18 Pro launches next month. The company exempted existing iPhones when it increased prices across the board to reflect higher memory prices, but that was only ever going to be a temporary reprieve. However, two sources are now suggesting that the starting price of this year’s Pro models will be $1,399 – and I find it hard to believe even Apple would go that far …

Heavy Siri AI usage could cost more than we expected, given Cook’s comment

What seems like a deliberately vague comment by outgoing Apple CEO Tim Cook during the earnings call suggests that heavy Siri AI usage could be more expensive than we’ve so far expected. While it had always seemed clear that we wouldn’t be able to make unlimited use of Siri AI without paying for it in some way, Cook’s remarks do appear to point to some bad news …

Here’s how iPhone Ultra’s form factor could compare to other Apple products

Next month, Apple will be unveiling its first foldable iPhone – rumored to be called iPhone Ultra. It’s going to feature a 5.5-inch outer display and 7.6-inch inner display. Late last month, Samsung introduced the new Galaxy Z Fold 8 – and it comes with those same screen sizes. Whether or not you believe Samsung only made this phone to preempt the iPhone Ultra is a different story – but one way or another, seeing the Galaxy Z Fold 8 gives us a great early idea of what iPhone Ultra will feel like in the real world.

HomeKit Weekly: How I use Apple Home to keep tabs on my home during summer travels

As I write this article, I am about to head out for a quick trip up north, and when I hit the road, there are a few key types of gear of my smart home setup I fully rely on to keep things running smoothly. Just remember that you will need a dedicated Apple Home hub, like an Apple TV 4K or a HomePod, to access your devices remotely to take full advantage here.

Apple’s rumored AirPods with cameras could potentially debut as soon as next month

Apple has been working on camera-equipped AirPods for quite some time, with Visual Intelligence at the forefront of the product. This product had initially been rumored for this year, then ended up getting pushed back to sometime next year. However, there’s now a new chance that we end up seeing our first version of camera-equipped AirPods later this year anyways. Here’s why.

MacBook Air reportedly facing major supply shortages due to AI-driven memory crisis

The AI datacenter buildout around the US has wreaked havoc across the entire consumer electronics industry. All of this newly found high volume purchasing of high end HBM2 DRAM has shifted entire supply chains, making it incredibly difficult to come across consumer grade memory and storage. SSDs and DDR5 RAM have shot up in price since the start of the year, and Apple finally had to adjust its pricing in late June – with everything becoming $100-400+ more across the board. Despite those price hikes, the company is still struggling to keep MacBook Air in stock.

Apple Upgrade might’ve provided our first hint for what could change with Apple Card

This week, Apple launched Apple Upgrade, its new leasing program for most Apple products. It replaces the iPhone Upgrade Program entirely, and for the most part, it’s an incredible deal. The deal is so good that largely, there isn’t a great reason to use Apple Card Monthly Installments (ACMI) anymore. You still get 3% cash back using Apple Upgrade, similar to ACMI – and the leasing terms are a lot more generous than ACMI. You also don’t have to lease forever. At the end, you can purchase the device by paying the difference between the leasing cost and the MSRP. So, it’s left me wondering – will Apple Card Monthly Installments go away?

I’m not convinced the 20th anniversary iPhone will be what we think, here’s why

Next year, the iPhone will be turning 20 – and Apple is heavily rumored to be working on a radical new design to celebrate. Many have expected this to come in the form of iPhone 19 Pro (more likely to be called iPhone 20 to align with the anniversary), but I think there’s one solid reason that it may not be delivered in that form.

Mac Studio: Here’s what Apple has in store for this fall and beyond

Later this fall, Apple will be updating the Mac Studio for the first time since early 2025. That may be just over a year ago, but it’s significant for one main reason: the highest end Mac Studio is still M3 based, as Apple never made an Ultra version of the M4 chipset. Here’s what to expect with the next generation Mac Studio, as well as in the future.

iOS 27 breaks 15 years of muscle memory on iPhone and iPad
